Welcome New Board Members

The United Way of Pasco County welcomes three new members to the board of directors. They are Jim Cook of Component General, Angela Gardner of Wachovia Bank and Laura Violante of Stone Parker and Company,

Other members of the countywide non-profit board include Eileen Boyle of Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Inc.; Shawn Foster, District Director for U.S. Congressman Gus Billirakis; Matt Gray of Levin Financial Group; Jim Herring of Publix Supermarkets; Joe Marina of Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative and George Romagnoli of Pasco County Community Development.

County Commissioner Ann Hlldebrand is the United Way of Pasco Board of Director Chair.

Also on the board are Bill Humphrey, retiree and David West of Inside Out Leadership Development. Honorary board member is retired Postmaster William Ragan.

The United Way of Pasco County's mission is to advance the common good in our community by creating opportunities for a better life and addressing the underlying causes of problems thus creating long-lasting changes.

PUBLIX CHECK PRESENTATION

Shannon Patten, Manager of Media and Community Relations and Jack Daniel, District Manager for Publix Supermarkets presented Susan Arnett, President of United Way of Pasco County a check for $321,300. This money represents the Publix Foundations match for the employee workplace campaign which raised $426,247.80 for a grand total of $747,547.80.

“The United Way of Pasco County could not do the important work of advancing the common good in this community without Publix Supermarket and their associates. The culture of giving that has been created within this organization is second to none. As our number one donor, Publix and its associates raise the bar every year. Their heart, their soul and their determination to truly LIVE UNITED is overwhelming”, said Susan Arnett.

The fundraising goal for the 2007 – 2008 Community Campaign was $1,625,000.00. This is an increase of 12% over the 2006 – 2007 goal. “We are currently at 99.3% of our goal. I am confident we will meet the goal by the end of the campaign which is June 30th,” stated Deborah Vosburgh, Director of Resource Development.
